Look Into Bridge Programs

Also, you may want to find schools that offer bridge programs for phlebotomy. Bridge programs allow students to gain certifications in multiple areas of study. Once you find a school that suits you must make sure you are eligible to apply.

Meeting the Requirements

While other schools will allow applicants or prospective students that do not hold a High School Diploma or G.E.D to take a placement test to determine the eligibility. These placement exams are typically the HESI A2 entrance test which stands for Health Education Systems Incorporated. This exam will determine if a prospective student can enter a program based on their current level of healthcare knowledge. Other requirements could be various types of documents including Social Security Card, Photo ID, Visa, or Passport.

MAKE IT HAPPEN!

After meeting all the requirements check your financial obligation and set up a payment plan with the school. Once you start your classes be sure to study! Studying will push you towards success. Keeping up with the material as you go through the program is the best way to ensure you achieve the highest grade possible. Waiting to the end of the program to study for the final and national exam will leave stressed and with a grade, you do not deserve. Some schools charge students for taking the national certification exam, while others include it within the tuition. On your search for a school be sure to ask a question regarding the national certification exam and whether or not they are an approved testing site. If the school you are looking at is not an approved testing site you have to pay additional fees to other schools in order for you to sit for your exam. Above all never give up on your healthcare dreams. If you don't succeed with your first attempt, at least you know your weak points and the level of effort you have to give the next time around.
